Are we nearly there yet?

It turns out, I am very nearly old. The transition, in fact, takes place in less than a week's time. Perhaps you would like to see it happen? If so, come to my house* at any time after 3pm this Sunday, the 19th of August. Bring anyone you like, a bottle of something, and maybe something to barbecue if the weather looks nice. Because it's been a long time since I've been to a fancy-dress party, it's going to be a fancy-dress party (though you needn't feel obliged). The theme, courtesy of cleanskies, is Cultists and Courtesans. Make of that what you will. There's no need to RSVP, but everyone likes polls:

Are you going to come to my birthday party?

Yes. I am young, and seek reassurance that the elderly are still capable of enjoying themselves.

Yes. I am old, but being in the presence of someone with your joie de vivre helps me to forget that for a few precious moments.

Yes. I am old, and my brain has deteriorated to such a point that I have forgotten that you took the piss when I became old.

Yes. I am old, and my brain has not yet deteriorated to such a point that I have forgotten that you took the piss when I became old, and you're going to rue the fucking day, sunshine.
