Advert

As you may know, The Rock Of Travolta and The Evenings (and Smilex, who I seem to recall being half-way decent grunge type stuff) are playing this very Saturday night at the Zodiac, and are throughly good. I have my ticket, and the pretty goth lady at the booth said that there were plenty more where that came from. I trust that I shall see some of you there...

Well, I bought one yesterday.

So you'll see me there unless I end up doing something else:-)

Cheers,

could I interest you in the Friday night before at the Cellar?
It's a vacuous pop night: "usa fat-cat's new signings animal collective who are touring with four tet (domino records) prior to this oxford date on 17 october. they'll be joined by randomNumber (ex hood) from leeds and from newcastle cathode (of former oxford band cody) for some classy laptop/electronica action with visuals too."

That's the bare bones version -- for some reason I have loads more in the email version -- mentioning keyboards, face-paint, shenanigans ... but that's a at work, not here.

I am torn
... I wonder, is it possible to go to the beer festival first and then the gig?

Re: I am torn
Hmmm... I won't be able to make the beer festival on Friday, 'cos tinyjo's parents are visiting. They're going to see someone folky at The Zodiac in the evening though. I was going to go to an indie night at The Jericho, but this sounds like it might be fun. I guess I'll see you there.

do I have to buy a ticket in advance?

Not necessarily, as you can buy them on the door. However, it's a quid cheaper in advance and there's a possibility that it will sell out, though I don't know how likely that is...
Doors are at 7:00, and based on past experience things'll start fairly sharpish.
