Happy Monday

I dunno. It's been ages since my last update, and this one is just to plug a gig. Still, if LiveJournal isn't about shameless self-promotion, what is it about, eh? Anyway, for the next six weeks, starting tonight, Rich and me will be DJing at the Temple Bar, Temple Street (between Cowley and Iffley Road, about two roads up from the roundabout) from 7 'till closing time. Based on past experience, the closest there'll be to dancing will be people drumming along with their fingers on the bar and walking to the loo in time to the music, but we'll play pretty much any request (bring the CD if you don't think we will have).

Now, I recognise that this is not the first time that I have promoted a gig that has subsequently failed to take place, nor indeed the first time that I have said "but this one seems much more likely to go ahead than previously". Still, this one seems pretty definite. Tell you what: if you fancy coming, comment here. If it all falls through, I'll let you know (bearing in mind that I may not know until about 7.) Or if you decide to wait and see and come along to a later week instead, I'll understand.

By way of a preview, here is the entire (or nearly entire, I was quite drunk towards the end) set list from my previous Temple Bar gig on Richard's birthday, where I DJed solo for about five and a half hours with only tinyjo and mr_snips for company, with occasional visit from an increasingly hammered Rich bringing me more beer. As mr_snips pointed out at the time, it was by far the longest period of sustained concentration that I have ever managed for a paying job without disappearing off to the toilet to read for half an hour or surfing the net. All I need is for someone to give me a job doing this full time...

You're right; it is full of tunes, and a fine selection thereof.
