Music:A little 'Stargate' bleeding through tinyjo's headphones
Set in and around tundra, ice floes and mountains, 'Far North' is bright and dark and spare and cold. My google-fu suggested that it would be better to go into it without knowing what to expect and I would certainly agree, but then again I alwaysfeel like that, so I'm not sure how general this recommendation would be. The plot is fairly slight, so I suspect the film would feel a little slow if you knew too much about where it was going. On the other hand, (if it's not too much of a spoiler) there's no shocking plot twist, and it's very much more about the journey than the destination.
Given my uncertainty, perhaps it's best that I describe some elements of the film in a truthful but misleading fashion; that should provide the best (and/or worst) of both worlds. So, 'Far North' features:
A cute girl with a gun
Attractive women sleeping with each other
Full facial snow-balling
A naked Sean Bean
Some of the most explicit on-screen scrimshawing you're ever likely to see
