Preserved Ephemera

  • 10:40 The unprepossessing cardboard box contains 2/3 of a glossy black inverted pyramid. Apparently my new phone has shipped *from the future*. #
  • 10:45 I pull the heart from my old mobile phone and thrust it into the new one. The old phone shivers in my hand, almost as if it understands... #
  • 11:04 The back of new phone has subtle asymmetric triangular facets. I suspect they're the legacy of the space-time warp that brought it here. #
  • 11:24 New phone is plugged in & feeding. It gently pulses with light, the visual equivalent of a purr. Old phone feebly offers me emergency calls. #
  • 11:54 Now Twitter no longer texts UK users, I can post about my new phone as much as like & only annoy people too far away to hit me. Yay! #
